Man docked for alleged theft of solar cable in Ondo

A 36-year old man, Bambadiga Konbe, has been arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Akure, by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, for allegedly stealing solar  cable.

The accused was brought before Magistrate Damilola Sekoni, on one-count charge of stealing.

The prosecution led by M.I. Osimen, informed the court that the alleged offence was committed on March 17, 2025, at White House, GRA, Ondo City.

Konbe was accused of stealing a solar black and red cable valued at N300,000, property of one Prince Adebayo Adewole.

The offence, according to the prosecution, contravenes Sections 383 (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

In his ruling on the bail application, Magistrate Sekoni granted Konbe bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum.

The sureties were required to provide an affidavit of means and submit two passport photographs.

Following his inability to meet the bail conditions, the defendant was remanded in Amotekun custody.

The case was adjourned to April 25, 2025, for further hearing.
