A 29-year-old man, Omoniyi Adeagbo has appeared before an Ile-Ife Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing two empty 50kg gas cylinders.
According to the prosecutor, Inspector Abdullahi Emmanuel, the accused person committed the offence on June 28 along Abiri Ogudu Road in Ile-Ife.
Emmanuel said that the accused conspired with others still at large to commit the offence.
He said that the two empty 50kg gas cylinders valued at N80,000, belonged to one Mr Tunde Aderinlewo.
The offences, he stated, contravened Sections 390(9) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.
The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
Defence counsel, Mr K. S. Adegoke, urged the court to admit his client to bail in most liberal terms, promising that he would not jump bail.
Magistrate Adedotun Ayeni, therefore granted bail to the accused person in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Ayeni directed that the surety must be a civil servant on grade level 08, while he must swear to an affidavit of means and reside within court jurisdiction.
He adjourned till July 28 for hearing.
