Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Bamidele Ologunloluwa has affirmed that Sunshine Stars target ahead of the 2023/24 season is to get continental ticket.

Ologunloluwa said it was too early to talk about winning the league with just a game played, saying his team has a vision, which he said was to grab the continental ticket.

He stated this after Sunshine Stars defeated Kano Pillars with a lone goal in the opening match of the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) played in Akure, the state capital.

The Commissioner commended the coaching crew, the fans and all critical stakeholders for their support which yielded positive result for the team.

He said: “We are happy that we defeated the newly returned Kano Pillars , this is just the beginning of good things to come, fans should always watch out for better performance as the league progresses”.

“I thank God for the first victory of the season, and that the game went well without any casualty from both players and supporters”.

“Let me thank the state Governor, for his support for the team, he is solidly with us morally and financially.”
