Olalusi bids farewell to Sunshine Stars, joins Niger Tornadoes

Former Sunshine Stars attacking midfielder, Michael Olalusi, has bid farewell to the Owena Whales after completing a two-year move to Niger Tornadoes, marking the next chapter of his professional football career.

Olalusi spent six seasons with Sunshine Stars, scoring 12 goals after joining the club from Akure City FC.

The Akure-born midfielder attracted interest from several Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs before opting to join the Ikon Allah Boys, a move he says he is delighted to make.

In an exclusive interview with SPORTING HOPE, Olalusi expressed his gratitude to the management of Sunshine Stars for giving him the opportunity to showcase his talent.

“There are many talented players who never get the platform to demonstrate the gifts God has given them.

That is why I must sincerely appreciate and thank the management of Sunshine Stars for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to wear the club’s colours for six memorable seasons,” he said.

“Sunshine Stars will forever remain a part of me.

This is where my professional journey began and I will always be grateful to the club’s management, the fans, the Ondo State Government and all football stakeholders for their unwavering support.

“As I begin this new journey outside my comfort zone, I ask for the continued support and prayers of the people of my home state.

Your encouragement and prayers will go a long way as I embark on the next chapter of my professional football career.”
