Ondo FA fixes election date, constitutes three-man audit committee

The Ondo State Football Association (FA) has scheduled its elections to hold from February 21 to March 7, 2025, with the association’s Congress fixed for February 18, 2025.

In a communiqué issued at the end of its board meeting at the Ondo State Sports Council, the FA announced the formation of three committees: an Audit Committee to review the association’s accounts, an Electoral Committee to oversee the upcoming elections, and an Appeal Committee to handle election-related disputes.

The Audit Committee will be chaired by Apostle Samuel Patani, with Dr. Babatunde Akinbinu as Secretary and Mr. Tokunbo Akinyelure as a member. The committee has been given two weeks to submit its fact-finding report.

The Electoral Committee will be led by Mr. Henry Babatunde, a former General Manager of the Ondo State Sports Council. Mr. Bisi Ayodele will serve as Vice Chairman, while Mr. Oluwafemi Adeleye is the Secretary and Barrister Ayodeji Adekunle a member.

For the Appeal Committee, Barrister Sola Daodu will serve as Chairman, with Mr. Segun Giwa, Chairman of the Ondo State Sports Writers Association (SWAN), as Vice Chairman, and Mr. Tomide Akintoye as Secretary.

The tenure of the current Ondo FA executive will expire on March 10, 2025.
