Following the alleged infiltration of bandits into South West states, the Osun Amotekun Corps has intensified security measures across the state’s borders.
To this end, security operatives in Osun State have devised strategies to forestall any potential breakdown of law and order.
The Amotekun Commander in Osun, Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, stated that proactive measures have been implemented to prevent hoodlums from infiltrating the state and the entire South West region.
In a statement released on Sunday, Dr. Omoyele reaffirmed the Corps’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding Osun State from criminal elements seeking to disrupt its peace and security.
He warned that security agencies remain resolute and dedicated to protecting the lives and properties of residents.
“The rising concerns over the movement of bandits fleeing military crackdowns in the North West and attempting to infiltrate the South West region are causing panic,” Omoyele stated.
“We are sending a clear and unambiguous message to all criminals: Osun is not a sanctuary for bandits, kidnappers, or any group intending to disrupt the peace and security of our people.
“We will not tolerate the presence of these lawless elements in our midst. Our men are fully deployed, vigilant, and prepared to combat any threats with utmost force.”
The statement follows reports of bandits escaping military operations in the North West and attempting to establish a foothold in the South West.
Dr. Omoyele reassured residents that the Amotekun Corps, in collaboration with other security agencies, is strategically positioned to intercept and neutralise any security threats.
“We are actively tracking and monitoring all suspicious movements across the state, and any attempt by these criminals to make Osun their base will be met with relentless opposition,” he asserted.
“Amotekun is not just a watchful presence; we are a force for peace, and we will continue to intensify our operations against terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry. We will flush out every criminal who dares to threaten the peace of Osun.”
The Commander further emphasised that the Amotekun Corps is fully committed to its mandate, ensuring residents feel secure in their homes and communities.
He also urged the people of Osun to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and cooperate with security forces in the ongoing efforts to keep the state free from criminal threats.
“We understand the concerns of our people, but let me make this crystal clear: the safety of every individual in Osun is non-negotiable,” Dr. Omoyele declared.
“We will stop at nothing to ensure that bandits, kidnappers, and terrorists have no foothold in this state.”
As Osun continues to strengthen its security framework, the Amotekun Corps remains at the forefront of this critical battle against criminality, vowing to take all necessary measures to secure the future of the state and its residents.
