Oyetola tasks teachers on education devt

Primary School teachers in Osun State have been charged to give their support to the development of the education sector through efficient delivery of their duties.

This is just as the State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola and the Authorities of Universal Basic Education Commission, Abuja were commended for their unrelenting efforts at developing primary School teachers’ capacity.

Executive Chairman, Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, Ajibola Famurewa stated these while declaring open the second phase of 5-day school based training workshop for selected primary school teachers across the state in Osogbo.

The programme was organized by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in collaboration with Osun State Universal Basic Education Board.

Famurewa noted that the successes recorded at the basic education level would have been impossible without the creation of enabling environment and financial commitments of the state government of Osun as well as UBEC.

He urged participants to put into practice and cascade the knowledge gained at the training to their colleagues that are not privileged to participate in the training on getting to their respective schools.

In their separate remarks, the Osun State Coordinator, UBEC, Alhaji Jimoh Kamaldeen, the resource persons, Dr.Temitope Oteyola and Dr. Joshua Adeleke charged the participants to ensure they impact their students better after the workshop.

While eulogizing the efforts of the present administration, led by Governor Oyetola and UBEC authority on their efforts at raising the bar of the state educational development, they enjoined the participants to be proactive in their teaching endeavours.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Secretary, Osun SUBEB, Osun, Mr Adeoye Bakare thanked UBEC for its support over the years at ensuring qualitative education delivery in schools across the country.

Adeoye lauded Governor Oyetola for his efforts in improving the education sector, describing him as a lover of education who has been working tirelessly to reposition the sector for better.
