Last week, Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), played host to the management of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Akure, where he tasked them on the need to continually air and project the State government’s programmes on its national platform.

The Governor informed the team led by its General Manager, Mr Segun Ojelade that the present administration needs to get more of its programmes viewed on  national level.

The Governor who commended NTA for the wide cover of his administration’s giant strides across the state, assured them of continued patronage and support.

Arakunrin Akeredolu promised that his administration would give appropriate support to the station in carrying out its duties.

“We want to concentrate more on what you take from here to to the network because of your wider coverage.

“We are ready to partner and support you. Please communicate to us in all areas that you need our support through appropriate channel,” he said.

Earlier, the NTA Gene Manager Ojelade, who said he was newly transferred to the state, noted that station was in the state to serve the government and its people.

“We are here to serve the state government and people of the state, projecting the state to national and the international community.

“We are not antagonising the government or as an opposition to government work,” he said.

He asked for partnership and mutual relationship with the state government especially in the area of patronage.

According to him, the state government should support the station to achieve its mandate.

The general manager said that the media station would give adequate support to the government, asking the government to carry the station along in its activities.

Also last week, Arakunrin Akeredolu received the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division, Ibadan, Major Gen. Okwudili Fidelis Azinta who led other top officers of the Nigerian Army which included Brigade Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment Akure, Brig Gen. James Ataguba into his office in Akure.

He applauded the Division for the tremendous assistants it is rendering the state in terms of security of lives and properties.

Akeredolu who noted that Owena Barack is part of Ondo State, enjoined the Military to make good use of the vast land within the Barrack.

“We have lots of land within the Owena Barrack that was not being put into proper use. I want to implore you to replicate what you have in Ibadan, the “Tiger Estate” in Akure here too.

“Those land can also be used for farming. If we can get some private investors who are interested in farming, that will no doubt, generate income for the Military”, he said.

Earlier, Major Gen Azinta had the Governor for his various intervention projects within the Owena Barrack which included road construction among others.

He restated his commitment to ensure that criminal elements are completely flushed out of the State.
