A s the remains of the late Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Honourable Temitayo Oluwatuyi, fondly known as Tuykana, is committed to mother earth following a rite of passage, political associates, family members, friends and professional colleagues speak with Weekend Hope, on his exemplary leadership qualities, philanthropic gestures and immense contributions to state and national development.

Prince Segun Omojuwa, Chief of Staff to Ondo Gov

The late Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi was a man of remarkable legacy and purpose, whose contributions to society were profound.

He was a devoted father, a loving husband, a supportive brother, and a cherished friend. His passing is a great loss to the Akure community and the Oluwatuyi family. The true measure of a man is not in his wealth, but in the legacy he leaves behind, and Oluwatuyi exemplified this to the fullest.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire Ondo State, on this painful loss and pray that God grants everyone close to him the strength to bear this irreparable loss.

Kolawole Gbadamosi, Classmate from Oyemekun Grammar School

The late Oluwatuyi was a shining example of excellence. The entire Oyemekun Grammar School community mourns the passing of one of our most distinguished alumni, Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi.

From his early years, he displayed brilliance, diligence, and strong leadership qualities that continued to define his life and career. He remained a proud ambassador of our institution, always contributing to its growth and inspiring future generations.

Many may not know this, but Tayo was also a talented sportsman. He played volleyball for the school and won medals both within and outside the state. He was not just a scholar and a leader, but also a competitor who thrived in every aspect of life.

His legacy of excellence and service will forever be remembered. He was a true friend, and his absence leaves a void that will be hard to fill. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Prince Iteyemi Adegoroye

The late Secretary to the State Government, Hon Temitayo Oluwatuyi was a kind man in the political terrain and in all areas.

He was a worthy leader who was ready to help his people in all aspects. He was a father to many and a role model to the young politicians who are emerging.

Mrs Deborah Owolabi, a businesswoman.

The late Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, will be remembered for his strategic leadership in fostering economic growth and social welfare.

Through public engagements and inclusive decision-making, Tuykana strengthened community bonds and encouraged active participation in governance, making his tenure more appealing to the people.

Mrs Hephzibah Ayoola

Hon Oluwatuyi was dedicated and loyal in service to the people of the state. Akure has lost a great leader who touched many lives through his charitable endeavours.

The late SSG was an easygoing individual whose contributions had greatly impacted the development of the state.

Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, Former Information Commissioner

Late Hon. Tayo Oluwatuyi, was a pillar of leadership and wisdom.

During our time together in the Ondo State Executive Council, he was the go-to person for guidance and counselling. His leadership qualities, experience, and deep understanding of governance made him a figure we all looked up to. I remember his time as Chairman of Akure South Local Government; he performed exceptionally well, earning the admiration of many. It was no surprise that he went on to serve as a two-time Commissioner and a two-time Secretary to the State Government.

There’s a saying that it’s not about how long one lives but how well. Oluwatuyi lived a purposeful life, and his legacy will endure beyond his years. To his family, I pray that the Lord grants you comfort and strength in this difficult time.

Dr. Ayo Ikusemiju, member of staff, SSG Office

Late Oluwatuyi was a boss like no other, firm yet fair, demanding excellence from everyone who worked under him. His leadership kept us all on our toes, pushing us to give our best every single day. Under his guidance, we learned the true essence of diligence, discipline, and dedication to duty.

Thank you, sir, for being a remarkable boss, mentor, and leader. Your impact will forever be felt in this office and beyond.

Mr Sunday Babayeju (Engineer)

Hon. Tuykana’s death is undoubtedly a great loss to the good people of Akure in particular and to the state in general. He was an easygoing, amiable, and extremely compassionate person, a grassroots politician and a friend to all.

He remained his usual self, with his infectious personality, trademark smile, and unmistakable expression. We have lost a great son of Akure.

Mrs Iyabo Balogun, a member of Togetherness Club.

Late Oluwatuyi had done his best while alive by uniting political gladiators, and he would not be forgotten in the party and Akure Kingdom.

It is saddening that death took him away at such a critical time when we needed him the most. May God give us the strength to bear the loss.

Chief Olorunfemi Ola Ebenezer, President, Togetherness Club

The late Oluwatuyi was an esteemed leader and a worthy son of Akure land.

He was a unifier, because God used him to unify Akure Kingdom. He did tremendously well irrespective of political affiliation. He was a worthy leader one should emulate.

Hon (Dr.) Gbenga Fasua, Chairmen-elect, Akure South LG

Late Oluwatuyi was my number one leader in Akure South Local Government, a father figure, a role model, a gem, a patriot, a good listener, a man with a large heart, friendly, and warm.

With pain, I must say that I am pained, touched by his loss, but he lives on in my heart.

Sola Adetunde, (motorcyclist)

This is a painful moment for the Oluwatuyi family, the entire Akure Kingdom, and Ondo State. Tuykana dedicated his life to serving humanity and the Sunshine State.

I am particularly heartbroken by his passing, as he was not only a shining star in Akure, but across Ondo State.

Mrs Titilayo Adedokun

The philanthropic nature of the late Secretary to the State Government, Hon Temitayo Oluwatuyi is worthy of emulation.

The pivotal role he played in shaping public policy and advancing social welfare is also commendable. He contributed significantly to his community.

Festus Aregbesola, Chairman, APC Central Senatorial District

Late Oluwatuyi was a true party man who worked tirelessly to foster unity within the political space. He was a party man to the core—a dedicated leader who brought people together under the APC in Akure South Local Government. He was a man of peace, one who tolerated everyone, regardless of differences.

As a party stalwart, he was a force to reckon with. His influence and leadership will be greatly missed within our political structure. The party has lost a great leader, and I pray that God grants him eternal rest.

Rasheed Ojuolape, friend

It is difficult to put into words the kind of person Tayo was. He was more than a friend, he was a brother. His generosity, wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of so many. He had a way of making everyone around him feel valued and respected.

Losing him is like losing a part of myself. The world feels emptier without him, but I take solace in the beautiful memories we shared. Sleep well, my dear friend. You will never be forgotten.

Mr Omotosho Ayodeji, Chairman, Akure South LG Ward 10

The late Secretary to the State Government was a good person during his lifetime.

He was a man of integrity, and his door was always opened to everyone, regardless of his position in the state. He was a towering figure under whom people found shelter, and we all benefited from him.
