The Chairman of the Ondo state Muslim Welfare Board, Alhaji Adams Dikrullah Candy has promised to improve on the development and activities of the Board better than what he met.
The chairman made the assertion while playing host to members of the Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), when the group paid him a courtesy visit yesterday in Akure.
The State Amirah of the Association, Alhaja Aminat Abeebullahi Akinpelumi said the visit was to familiarise with the chairman and to inform him about the collaborative effort of the association with the Muslim Welfare Board.
Akinpelumi, who led the team to the board, explained that the association engages in advocacy (dawah), adding that it is involved in government activities based on the recommendation made by the board.
“We partake in the sensitization of the people before, during and after hajj preparation based on invitation. National Amirah is part of National Hajj Commission in Abuja, we enlighten women and accompany them to the airport before the plane takes off,” she said.
