Argo Raak, Usman, Awwal win 6th Ondo Auto Rally

The trio of Fatai Usman, Captain Awwal and Argo Raak have emerged winners of the 6th edition of Ondo Auto Rally,held at Smokin Hills Golf Resort, Ilara –Mokin.

Fatai Usman beat others to win the prize in the Bike Race ,while Captain Awwal and Argo Raak came first in the Drifting and Dirt Race respectively.

Yusuf Wasiu and Agboola Ekundayo settled for second and third positions in the Bike race, Jay Bash Lateef Orisunmibare were also second and third in the Dirt Race while  the duo of Argo Rack and Tammy made runner up and position in the Drifting respectively.

The winners in a chat with newsmen, said they were excited to emerge winners of the 2023 edition of Auto Rally.

“We thanked the organisers for bringing moto sports to Ondo State, this is fantastic.

We plead the organisers that they should help tar the track so that it will be more easier and interesting for the racers.”

All the winners went home with cash prizes.

The Acting Governor of Ondo State, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa while declaring open the sixth edition of the Auto Rally commended the founder of the Smokin Hills Golf Resort ,Mr Michael Adeojo for the investment in Ilara Mokin.

He said it’s not only about the Smokin Hills, but other investments in this country.

According to the Acting Governor, “the greatest use of life is to use it for something that will outlive you, sir, your name will remain in history forever.”

“I also thank the founder of Work and Play, Mr Adeoye Ojuoko for his vision to partner with a great man by tapping into what is already existing in the country to initiate yearly Auto Rally.

This year is a great improvement on the previous editions, I’m very sure one day competitors will come from the across the globe as we have them all over the country coming to Ilara Mokin.”

The chief organiser of the Ondo Auto Rally, Mr Adeoye Ojuoko in his welcome address said they were working hard to ensure the 1.6 kilometers track become superb.

He said: Our intention was to bring people from all over the world to come and participate in the Auto Rally in Ilara Mokin.
